Thereʼs nothing wrong with ranting. I actually do some ranting sessions with my team every month or two.
Sometimes i have to start so the others get used to it and release all the tension. Then someone continues with a minor thing and soon we all rant around. At the end i have a relaxed team finally gotten rid of all the steam, and a list of painful thing we, as management, have to change to make their life better (thus, allowing ourselves to create a better product).
Yeah, we might be an unusual company.
The truth is, ranting never stops. However, if you actively listen to these you can make your company and product 30% more awesome.
