React has a giant company, Facebook, behind it and they do a lot of marketing / evangelizing on it. Vue.js as been a lot better about this recently and it's showing. A lot more companies are starting to utilize Vue, whether it's one small part of their application or the entire thing. It's all preference at the end of the day.
