I have come across application ShareChat and TikTok which feeds users videos of short length. I don't know the companies reason behind these application to develop.
Does this kind of application really helps people to be creative in a right way?
I don't think there's a right or wrong way to be creative. What I love about apps like ShareChat or TikTok is that they are lower the bar so much that everyone can create content and express themselves.
I believe that the web is better when more people can create, rather than just consume.
Are you asking whether it is ethically a good idea to create apps like TikTok?
I wouldn't personally have ethical objects to it.
There may be better ways to help the world if that's what you're after, but I don't think there's anything wrong with shallow entertainment apps.
Yes. Developers should make software which makes them happy (even if it's just by getting paid for it). Always remember that other people's opinions might differ from your's, so even if you think these apps are useless, there are people who love them. To be honest, I β€ TikTok π
By the way, the reason for the application is creating a mass-social application, which goes viral and then generates lots of π²π²π²

Let me be honest. I think Tik Tok sucks as a social media or network. Many people don't like it because of the content. But, if you want to develop an app like Tik Tok then go ahead there are so many challenges. Tik Tok handles a ton of traffic but you will never see any buffering videos or qualify loss that makes that app unique.
As a developer, you might need to do things people don't like but it can make a lot of money choice is yours.
