Shipping a web app today is easy.
You deploy, share a link, and you’re live. No approvals, no stores, no waiting.
The real challenge now is getting discovered.
Without app stores acting as a central hub, most web apps rely on scattered channels like SEO, social posts, or communities, and that’s hit-or-miss.
That’s why I’ve been paying attention to lighter “discovery layers” for web apps. Not marketplaces, just places that help people find useful tools.
One interesting example is https://unstore.io, which works more like an index of web apps than a traditional store. Feels like we’re moving from gatekeepers to simple discoverability.
And honestly, that might be a better fit for how the web actually works today.
