Microsoft shut down Outlook Lite for Android, pushing users toward the main Outlook app.
That is understandable from a product-maintenance view.
But it raises a bigger question:
Are companies forgetting users with low storage, slower networks, older phones, and simpler needs?
Not every user wants a heavyweight app.
Some users just want:
fast loading
low data usage
fewer distractions
reliable offline behavior
basic features done well
Hot take: the future is not always bigger apps.
Sometimes the winning app is the one that feels respectful.
Respectful of battery.
Respectful of storage.
Respectful of attention.
Respectful of weak network conditions.
Founders love adding features. Users often love apps that remove friction.
If you are building mobile for real-world users, especially in mixed-device markets, lightweight architecture still matters.
