Nice to hear this, wish you all the best. Must-have features:

1. Scratchpad, which means that I can create both lists and text, although with a focus on the former
2. Nestability, i.e. I can easily create categories which have children todos, and so forth
3. Minimalistic UI, but aesthetic (Todoist has a 👏 here)
4. The ability to archive todos, but see them later when needed
5. Export to markdown
6. Sync across all devices

Mind you, I could merely be highly opinionated, but I didn't find an app that checks all the items.

6 - Sync across all devices WITH the option to use the native service of the device - so on iPhone, use iCloud for storage (as an option) - other options could include storing the sync files on Dropbox or whatever Google offers for storage.

Honestly, I would love to see apps offer to use AWS S3 and ask for credentials and I'll take care of maintaining the bucket myself.

I was once using Wunderlist, but they had a break down for 3 days where I was stuck since I didn't have my list. So be sure that even if your server fails, that people can access their lists and possibly later sync them.

I never used Wunderlist again since.
