I am really looking forward to learn Elm, I want to see whether the hype is real, about everything being so great because of its functional, declarative nature.

Speaking of functional programming, I also want to pick up ClojureScript, and learn me some LISP. :)

a lot of people say that elm has it pitfalls for applications, so I would recommend a side-project for that building basic components.

The elm community seams to be very active and nice, like the clojure community. Well since most of the functional guys are into mathematics and those abstractions they're really sophisticated overall. Not really always applicable considering certain business/environmental interests but still always a joy to listen and learn from them.
