What Desktop Environment Do You Use in Linux?

One thing that makes Linux awesome is the level of customization you have for you system. I'm wondering what desktop environment people are finding awesome or useful. If the desktop environment you are using isn't listed feel free to comment about the one your using.

Unity with many gnome apps (like nautilus file manager, document viewer, archive etc), konsole from KDE.

Unity! I didn't like it back in the day when Ubuntu replaced Gnome with it.

Then Gnome 3 came out and I decided to give another chance to Unity and since then I am being using it and I am happy.

At first because I don't had a good PC i used LXDE and XFCE, they were fast af, but i felt something was incomplete.

Right now using Fedora 24 i am so happy with GNOME 3.20 customized with some good themes. I will give you a picture of my desktop here

I can see why you would be happy with GNOME 3 from your picture. You desktop look really nice. Inspiration from Mac OS lol?

First I used gnome. But after all my colleagues switched to i3 I also switched. I never want to use something else :)

Thats nice! What are some of the things you like about i3?

You can completely use it with your keyboard. For example, to start a program you press CTRL + D and then type the program you want to open. Per default, all programs start with full screen. Using CTRL + V or H you can add another program vertical or horizontal. You cannot open a program above another program, means you can heavily use the different desktops (0 ... 9) Another nice feature is that you can customize it by changing a config file, there are many config files out there. A small disadvantage is that some things like locking screen, taking screenshots or changing volume are not in the default config so they just won´t work and nothing happens. But like I said there are config files which already include it and a small search on google mostly gives good answers on how to do it.
