What do you think about Adobe Muse?

I just saw a designer friend of mine create a website in Adobe Muse without writing a single line of code!

Though I personally never liked Dreamweaver or any WYSIWYG kind of tools for a simple reason that they add a lot of bloat to your code and fail to create complex layouts; Seeing how amazing his website turned out to be made me think about this..

Would tools like Muse eliminate the need front-end developers all together soon?

These tools are built to make a simple website without spending time on coding(or people who don't code), It does its job nicely. But when you want more customisation then these tools set back.

Exactly! but that's the thing, These websites are not 'simple'..there are fairly complex websites listed here: muse.adobe.com/site-of-the-day and if people are able to make these kind of websites using a tool, I think they have a good chance of stealing the game from front-end developers.

I agree with your point.These tools actually good for an individual, But I don't think much suitable for large organisation or complex projects. In large complex sites many front end dev and back end dev will work together simultaneously and they use git for future upgradation.If you need to modify even a small change in the code that the tool has produced its only possible for coders and some times it may be complex too.Finally these tools are not bad and they are improving so much. Currently they are not harmful to front end dev may be in feature they may ...will...

Yeah.. Big projects have much complexity involved, they need a planned development effort which i guess these tools can never provide. They can be pretty useful for the little guy though :)

These kind of tools are great for doing very quick and simple sites or for people who does not know how to make a site with html, css and js. On the negative side is that you have to spend some time to make a good simple and quick site, time that you could use it to do it by your own hands.

These tools are the worst things to happen to the internet after Star Wars. ☺
