I'm one of the main developers of the Froala Editor and I would love to hear any feedback you might have about it. Are you using another editor? What would you like to see implemented in Froala?
A very nice and complete editor with an incredible UI. The only thing that is missing are image captions.
Hi Stefan, overall we love Froala.
However Froala lacks one serious basic feature - Inline Image Caption. This function is a must-have for any serious Rich Text (WYSIWYG) Editor in today's content creation, rich market.
Froala's rivals TinyMCE and CKEditor both have this feature.
You can test and use the Inline Image Caption function now on the CKEditor home page. Their implementation is brilliant.
We need Inline Image Caption for our users - urgently please. You and I have corresponded on this with a promise of 'soon', months ago, but so far no advance on what 'soon' means or when 'soon' is.
We are launching our beta product in a few weeks. We can't launch a serious product without Inline Image Caption. We anticipate frustrations from our users without this basic function. Unfortunately, we will need to switch to either TinyMCE or CKEditor, on this issue alone, as much as we love Froala.
This is the only flaw we find with Froala. So, if this feature is added, Frola is P-E-R-F-E-C-T!!! 😃 (Yay!)
If we could get a promise and a date for Inline Image Caption we will happily continue to support Froala.
Best regards from Australia.
Froala is magnificent. My startup Bybrand.io is totally based on it. Very easy to extend, and create your own plugins.
Some suggestions are: option to run with Jquery Slim (Ajax file upload can be compromised)
My main reason to want to ditch froala is the weight of the js and css. What is the minimum Kb weight of the editor once minified/gzipped ? Positive feedback : image uploading out of the box is just an amazing feature.
Looks wonderful. I was specifically looking for markdown support which isn't present ATM.
The documentation looks well written and has support of numerous frameworks which is very good sign.
Oh damn, just checked the plugins section. It definitely looks promising. Will be trying it out soon.
We recently implemented it where I work. Our userbase has been happy with it so far. The developer who implemented it said you guys are proactive about getting feedback and have already spoken to him.

Stefan Neculai we use Froala Editor at 2U and it's been great. I'm unclear based on your answer below - do you support markdown and/or have a plugin?
