Mark "I do also feel that IntelliJ is much better than Eclipse..."
Since you didn't quite manage to "skip the tedious argument..." I get that opinions vary. I worked at a shop that provided IntelliJ free to its developers but didn't require its use. The goal was to produce code not to do so by means of some specific IDE. I tried IntelliJ for about six months and rejoined my Eclipsean brethren. I was not alone in the try-IntelliJ-revert-to-Eclipse gang at that shop. Most of us Eclipsers who tried IntelliJ did so specifically because we could do so for free and make an informed decision about our preferences. Price would not have a been an issue.
With over fifteen years using Eclipse, I doubt any other IDE will ever win me away.
My point to emphasizing free was specifically targeted to Bridget Sarah and others, especially younger devs who may follow her, on a tighter budget.
