@matthewstillwell ... No, a product designer doesn't necessarily have to be a person who designs tangible things, that why I stated "people I know who are Product Designers". What you have simply named off are particular roles that may or may not apply to the actual position. For instance, I'm the Lead Front-end Developer on my team but my job functions go way beyond just writing code. I manage a team of 9 and their work loads. That makes me a Project Manager. I handle the ADA compliance. That means I'm working with the our legal team - but I'm not a lawyer. I also handle UX even though we have a dedicated UX team. I wear many hats and have many responsibilities but in the end my title and role is still that of Lead Front-end Developer.
