I am the new one. So, I do not know everything about this service. Maybe, you can help me? Tell us what you like the most of all!
I'm gonna be all superficial here and say besides the great community, it's the fact I can give you a beer.
Come on, what other coding community allows you to receive beers?
An awesome community that is not toxic.
My favorite thing in Hashnode is that, this is a type of online community that really focuses on how you will improve yourself as a programmer/developer. Everything that you see in your timeline is actually useful and a new piece of learning that will add up to your current knowledge about the latest trends and it really focused on one niche which is about technology. You can share articles, create posts, ask questions or polls related to programming, follow nodes of your interest and the best part - it is moderated. So you can really assure that you will not see useless and toxic stuff in your timeline.
No drama. No shitty humble-bragging posts about everyday normal life including what they've ate for breakfast, instagram posts about their new shoes etc. Just a community for developers and programmers.
That (thus far) people aren't rude.
There is a mix of people here from all sorts of backgrounds in development all over the world. It's amazing how similar our experiences are. We can learn from each other, not just about the languages we're interested in, but about the craft of being a developer.
I enjoy the links some provide to libraries, software or news items related to development that I might not otherwise know about. I like the bookmarks feature, too.
💕Community
For me, I think it has to be the people around here! Features come, features go! But people stay!
Being an ex Team Hashnode, I have had a front row view of the effort Hashnode Team puts in community building!
This is my perception of what makes the Hashnode team's DNA — it's but a single driving question — Does what we are going to do today, fall in line with making the life of a developer better?
A relentless pursuit filled with actions succeeded by a Yes to the above question has led to a beautiful, beautiful community... where people are super supportive, understand your troubles, and when they can they would go out of their way to share their knowledge, without any second thoughts.
This single aspect is what I love about Hashnode. Features are secondary!
But... if you want to talk about features; I think Hashnode shines there too! But, I might be biased given my involvement in some of them! ;)
🏆 Features
Feature wise, there are two things which are my absolute favourites:
There you go! I also absolutely absolutely love Hashnode's UX; and that is what made me stick "a little longer", when I first visited hashnode.com :D
