What Projects Are You Watching On GitHub?

There are a lot of projects which might be really interesting, but you just do not know where to use them at the moment. So you just follow them and read some updates from time to time. Many of those interesting projects might be very unknown.

Which three rather unknown projects do you find awesome and watch on GitHub?

Mine are:

Gainput, a Input library written in C++
libsoundio, a sound I/O library written in C
font-rs, a font loader/renderer written in Rust

create-react-app: FB endorsed react boilerplate.

The projects I follow are mostly the projects I use, planning to use or planning to contribute to someday.

SlateJS - It is an awesome framework for building rich web text editors.
Way too many react based boilerplates. 😀 Just to get ideas for improving mern-starter.
Redux - Hoping to contribute one day.

huh, SlateJS? That's what you use on Hashnode, right? :D Very nice, I really like it, thanks for sharing!

We are using SlateJS on the new editor which is on works.

I have stared 481 repos, not all of them watching though. Here are some of the most interesting ones:

elm-compiler - compiler for the Elm programming language.
hub - a command line tool that wraps git in order to extend it with extra features and commands that make working with GitHub easier.
Microsoft/vscode - the official Visual Studio Code repo.
babel - the good old babel.
golden-layout - one of the best Javascript layout managers. I have some plans using it in the near future.
golang/go - the Go programming language.

@sandeep wanted to reveal my secrets, dangit! I follow 363 projects on Github.

Here are some worth mentioning:

spirit - A promise based Node.js web framework (think of koa2 but nicer)
fingerprintjs2 - Identify browsers (useful for identifying annonymous users)
usertiming-compression.js - Compress UserTime measures (Shrinks UserTiming measures by 90% - safes bandwidth for in browser performance measures)
rollup - ES6 bundler (better than Webpack - IMO)
fly - Build system based on ES6-generators (think of Grunt/Gulp but modern, simplier and less config/code)
rethinkdb - Realtime database (Think CouchDB+Redis but much faster)
caddyserver - Go based web server (Think of Nginx but fast and easy to configure)

Looking away from the perspective of usability, for a bit; I find the following two projects quite amusing.

npm-expansions: What does n-p-m stand for?
is-thirteen?: Check if a number is equal to thirteen, as simple as that. :)

To list a couple more...

react-fiber-architecture; documenting the internals of the new React core.
mern-starter: A complete boilerplate solution for getting started with the MERN stack

I am watching a lot of projects. Some of the interesting ones are :

d3 / d3 : JS Charting Library
basscss / basscss : Low-level CSS Toolkit
atom / atom
less / less.js : I am a less fan! ✌️
adobe / brackets : Just to keep track of the new features 😉
google / material-design-icons : Material Design Icons by Google. Some nice additions to the collection recently.

I am watching the following three projects on GitHub :

Redis-Lock : Implements a locking primitive using Redis in Node.js.
Alt : Isomorphic Flux implementation.
MERN Starter : Boilerplate for getting started with MERN stack :)

Some projects I follow are not on GitHub but I regularly check on them from their websites. Here are a few.

Fantom: Programming Language
Crystal: Programming Language
Black Screen : Terminal Emulator (Waiting for linux support)
Cash : Cross-platform Linux commands in ES6
Sofi : Interesting concept for better Python GUI using web technologies

ya, Black Screen looks very promising, I sure hope someone adds it to Portage and Chocolatey, for lazy ol' me :D

Right @fibric Crystal is on Github. Crystal definitely has a lot of potential and I hope it really takes off too. I think Black Screen will give a new and modern twist to terminal emulators that should be fun. @paulfwatts , you and others are lucky to be using it now lol.

@devmal I read that Black Screen is trying set a common terminal emulation standard based on a VT100 . I used to use a VT100 for real many years ago which was a step up from programming on a Dec Line Printer lol
