Github, Inc is under Microsoft, Inc. which in-turn makes NPM, Inc also under Microsoft, Inc. Recently Microsoft embraced open source. They built Visual Studio Code, Typescript, WSL1 and WSL2, acquired Github and now NPM. What are your thoughts about it. I think Microsoft now owns Javascript ecosystem.

The acquisition is an excellent move for sustaining the JavaScript ecosystem, and I believe npm is in good hands, so we should expect changes and growth. Microsoft is indeed taking over the open-source space.
