If I'm thinking long term, 10 years out, what's best for my career?
I think you could do both if you find the time. If you already have some experience under your belt, which allows you to get jobs in the area, then you could think about going to a bootcamp to get better.
University degrees are useful for getting higher-paying jobs. You will inevitably find an offer where they NEED you to have a degree, so it's good to get a degree to ensure a stable growth pattern in your career.

I think for me, it depends on your goal. Do you want to be a company guy or a freelancer, most of the Big companies requires a degrees, however freelancers doesn't need a degree. University degree is good for getting lots of contacts and maybe help you to get internships and of course you will get a paper like diploma/certificate but usually takes 4-5 years and very expensive, however with bootcamp it's better if you already have the experience to further improve the skills you already have and get a practice/experience working with latest technologies. Bootcamp is much cheaper compare to a cost of University degree but I think you can learn a lot from it in just like 3 or 6 months of time, and most of them will help you to set your career.
