I got my first (pre-owned) PC back when I was twelve (the year 1999) when computers (as I imagined) were just gaming machines to me. I was surprised when I learned that an audio disc could be played in it, the very first day the machine arrived at my home.
It was an 80486 running Windows 95 (with a hidden Windows 3.1 as a dual boot configuration), 2GBs of hard-drive space, maybe about 32MBs of memory (I do not remember). All peripherals including the keyboard, mouse, monitor (15" CRT Samtron color monitor) and speakers (from Basso) were white in color, which used to be a thing back then in the late 90s. There were two floppy disk drives: 3.5" and 5.25", configured as drive A and B respectively so I never had a question about hard-disk drives starting from letter 'C'.
Almost every single software used to ask for a Pentium processor to run properly.
I believe, I missed so much of fun older people must have had, being born in the 80s and finally getting to touch a computer for the first time in the late 90s, just before the Y2K was about to take over the entire planet.
