This poll is to get an idea of which programming language people prefer these days.
Missing the option "None", just got interested in programming and want to learn more.
No multiple choice here. Java & JavaScript among the ones listed. But I'm more of a language-agnostic programmer. Sure, I have my preferences, but most languages do things similarly enough that the language itself isn't a barrier.
Seems like it's a JavaScript era, in which we are living.
I'm skilled in Java (about a decade of professional experience and another of fiddlin') and JavaScript (about two decades of professional experience). I've played with C++ for educational purposes. Ain't touched Python at all.
I think Python and Java are my strongest languages (not just from this list but overall). Not sure which one more.
I'm getting better at Rust though, hopefully I can answer 'Rust!' if this question is asked in a year or so.
define skilled? able to write code that works and being familiar with the concepts? or really specialized
because one means 4 checkboxes and the other zero ;D .... although C++ would be debatable since memory management gets tricky ;D
But I did write programs in all 4 of the languages, with even 'sophisticated' things like multi-threading and buffer communications.
still ... depends on your definition in the end.
