I want to know how common it is for a coder to have a coding tattoo.
My partner has a piece of code on his right leg. Although he never explained what was that exactly that he meant. I thought I wanted something less provocative, so I got tattoo ideas from https://glaminati.com/tattoo-ideas/ and will show them in the parlor soon. I still can't decide whether I want B&W or colored tattoo. What do you guys think?
I would write something like "Hello world". As they say, beauty is in simplicity. If you do decide to get a tattoo, I recommend buying a cream to reduce the pain. Also the cream will help in the first days as will do a tattoo. I already have several tattoos and I got myself a Skin numbing cream. The cream really helps and I don't know how I got tattoos before without this cream.
Hi, I have four tatoos and none of them are code related ^^. I have one representing a scene from an old video game but that's it.

I don't have coding tattoos. I don't have any tattoos. However, I think, if I put a tattoo on my skin, it should be there for decoration. I want to feel good wearing it and I must be sure that I like it so much that I keep it for the rest of my life.
Personally, I don't think that a coding tattoo could invoke that kind of feeling for me. The only development kind of tattoos I could come up with are coding-jokes or the name of some framework. Jokes get old. Frameworks fall. I know people who put band names on their arms, but the bands disbanded or chose to change their style, and those people regret getting that name tattooed.
If I ever chose to get a tattoo, it would probably be a decorative pattern. Something which is nice to show off and gives me energy when I think about me wearing it. Something, which cannot fade or change. Maybe a pentagram.
