I love Hashnode because you can ask literally anything here and the community doesn't ban you. The developers here make sure to answer your silly questions.
What's your reason? 😀
Most biggest point:
For me, Hashnode is awesome, mainly because of its community. Yes, y'all are awesome! I have had some of the best and most constructive and most productive discussions here. I can learn so much new from all the question you ask, and the high-quality answers everyone provides. That's true even for topics which I thought I knew! Not only that, but answering questions and getting upvotes also provides me with feedback, that what I do is the right thing. For me, that's why Hashnode is awesome, inspiring, motivating and why I prefer it over any other dev platform out there!
Really, thanks, all of you, for making Hashnode awesome!
Hashnode is more than just a community for developers, it's a community built around a simple, but powerful idea - "Bring out the best in you."
That's why you see so many friendly, helpful and open-minded people here. Hashnode is a platform where you can be heard, where you can get help and help others. It's a place where you will find answers to non-trivial questions about topics, ranging from software-architecture to project management and self-development.
It's one of the few places, where you can expose your weaknesses without fearing that people will judge you, quite the contrary - they will try all their best to assist and help you. And the best part is that you can do the same - you can also inspire and help others.
I've been part of Hashnode for three years and it literary changed my life. Not only on the professional side, but on the personal side also. Thanks to Hashnode I've improved many aspects of my life like my presentation skills, organization and soft skills, learned a lot just by reading and answering questions and most of it - I have a lot of fun doing it.
Like every community, Hashnode has some problems and this is perfectly normal. After all, the community is still young, compared to communities like StackOverflow or Quora, but the team behind Hashnode is all ears for any feedback and they make sure that every word is heard.
So, how can you not fall in love in it?
Great peoples makes great community. So I think open minded folks is the key.
I like to think about others peoples problems to improve myself. So I will go for the conversational part as well as Mark.
Mainly because I'm interested in others people opinions and approaches as well as Ideas
for hard facts I prefer stackoverflow.com, crypto.stackexchange.com, serverfault.com as wells as the manuals. But they don't challenge my mind in the way a different perspective does. I esp. appreciate opinions opposing mine.
And besides I'm a smartass ... I enjoy answering questions anyways.
I like the opinion based questions/discussions, about coding style and about technologies.
For technical questions I prefer StackOverflow to be honest.

Hashnode is a true community. The last time I remember being so interested in the people within a community (past the BBS days) would be my early days on WebMasterWorld.
There's no traffic cop screaming, "STOP! That question was asked five years ago and if you continue to question our false authority and antiquated solutions, we'll ban you. Oh! And if you like to ask questions... don't. We'll ban you. Oh! And, if your question isn't something we've used to monopolize Google SERPs with, we'll disable it, prevent a discussion... and, why not... we'll ban you. Wait!!! Where you going?"
StackOverflow is the same to a developer, as the GPS is to Uber and Lyft drivers. Highly-inaccurate, takes too much effort for something that's supposed to be simpler, and eventually causes you to quit.
