Tools for writing documentation?

I'm going to write some documentation for the package for Laravel I'm currently working on. Do you have any recommendations for tools I can use? I would prefer some markdown editor, but where I don't really have to care about structuring the page too much.

Is there some tool I can use and then export it to HTML files so I can put it on my own website? Or is there a Laravel package for this maybe.
