Punctuality is important, need to respect the time of the candidate. Specially during these times when interviews are conducted virtually, it feels good if you join little early. It's an interview not a memory test, don't ask questions which just test candidate's memory and not his skills.

Some good tips in here. "The interview is a test, not a class" is a great thing to keep in mind. I've seldomly have erred in this explaining what something is π¬. I'll keep this in mind. Also, I think for the person conducting the interview, it's important to learn from each interview. So I'd say "The interview is a test for the candidate and a learning opportunity for you." π
