Indeed I agree with what you wrote, you need to be consistent and patient, practice is the key. Repeat an action and eventually, you'll do it, are at least you'll be one step closer :)
On the other hand, I'd also like to add a few points. Dancing helps in performing and expressing ourselves. When I had to give serious presentations at the office, in from of people I didn't know or I was intimidated by them, I was thinking that "hey, this is a performance, I have to make people like me and my work" and it usually worked, I would be less stressed.
And you are absolutely right -- dance and the performing arts (music, theatre, speech) are GREAT for learning about presenting yourself in front of an audience.
