Faster typing is not the same as faster engineering AI coding tools are good enough now that pretending otherwise is silly. They autocomplete, explain code, generate tests, refactor files, and sometim

Great article. This echoes many of the same conclusions I reached while documenting my own AI app-building journey, especially around the security and governance aspects of adopting AI in development.
One point that particularly resonated with me was your reminder that "AI-generated code still belongs to you." It's an easy line to read past, but it's probably one of the most important. AI can accelerate development dramatically, but it doesn't transfer responsibility. Security, licensing, architecture, testing, and compliance remain the developer's responsibility.
I also appreciate that you approached the topic pragmatically instead of treating AI as either a silver bullet or something to fear. Balancing productivity with proper security controls is where the real value lies.
Reading this was reassuring because it aligns closely with the lessons I've been documenting from my own AI-assisted build projects.

Great analysis! I really liked the focus on measuring real engineering outcomes rather than just AI-generated code volume. The discussion around review costs, security, and workflow optimization offers practical insights for teams evaluating AI coding assistants.
