Though provoking! I enjoyed reading this. Reminds me of someone many years ago, who spent so much time practicing guitar, and it really bothered them that they were told how "gifted" or "talented" they were. They wanted people to see that they put in so many hours, and it was a lot of hard work, that was the reason they became as good as they were. I think that resonated with me and stayed with me since then.

It's great for others and yourself, to remind yourself that you are a hardworking individual, and you got to where you are because of that.
