For a front-end portfolio it's really important that you showcase your design abilities and your ability to use APIs well. You will want to show that you can code in a modern framework as well (React or Angular).

I know your focus is front-end work, but I think it'd be valuable to highlight a full-stack project that way you can create a CRUD application and also show you can handle simple user authentication. You can use the MERN or PERN stack for example to create this. This project should take some time to build and make sure it is on something you are passionate about so you are excited to finish it.

Some examples:

• Create a study community for other developers that can include flashcards and quizzes. Maybe a simple forum for users to create topics and chat in.
• An exercise tracker
• Road trip planner

Once you have that project down you can highlight any of your previous or future work that shows off your design skills and usage of APIs.

Be sure to include links to the hosted version of your projects and a brief description of the project and maybe some things you learned while coding it.
