I think the most important thing anyone can do for their brand is to have a personal website. The classic type, where you own the content and host it somewhere.
Third party platforms are awesome for reach, but they should be primarily to syndicate your content. This way, if for some reason you lose access to one such platform, you don't lose your primary base.
