Not Understand What is the use of this? phpdesktop, laravel runner, php inbuilt server, sartajphp server lots of solution to run php project in small server. Best solution for Node JS is sphpdesk. It can bind your website button to node js function and run whole php project inside node js app. I developed stream server in node js and secure and authorized by SartajPhp project which was running in apache web server and node js app was running in sphpdesk server. Yes sphpdesk can also work as web server like node js server but practically apache, nginx and other web server is more better for work as professional web server

Maintainer from ext-php-rs here. Nice article and so cool to see what you've done with it. I mainly come from the direction of using rust code from php and it is cool to see some going into the different direction and build something awesome.

Navid Benders The project by him that enables this is open source (github.com/platformatic/php-node). He also made a real effort to contribute to ext-php-rs with some changes already merged.

So from my perspective everything is fine.

What he does with his product is his decision. While I would certainly prefer it to be open I cant fault him for charging here. Nearly every company uses open source projects and he did more than most by A) open sourcing this functionality and B) contributing back.

That beeing said I did not look into the product, nor the pricing structure, as it doesn't really matter from what I see and mentioned above.

Navid Benders There's no paywall here. All the pieces mentioned in this article--php-node, the php stackable, and the Watt application server--are all open source and Apache 2.0 licensed.

And yes, I contributed back as soon as I was able.

We do HAVE paid products, but none are covered in this article--this is all free stuff. We obviously need to have SOME paid products though, or how could we pay for the time to build things like this?

It's really appreciated. One thing that I did not see in the post is the php will be stateful or stateless?

PHP is essentially stateless. Each request clears its variable state in the VM.
