If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.
This is a great philosophy to maintain and it doesn't just apply to reading books. It applies to other things such as your exercise routine, financial investments & general career advice etc.
If you're doing what everyone else is doing, why would you expect to get ahead and beat the curve?
Reading is a good way to broaden your minds, get new knowledge and relax. I think that people shouldn't focus only on one type of book. I mean business literature or programming books etc. It's good to read anything. I prefer to read fiction literature or modern plays. Recently, I've written an article for samploon.com/character-analysis-of-loureen-from-t… and I can say that it's an interesting activity. I'm a technician but such things help me to develop not only as a professional but also as an educated person.
