It has been nearly a decade since people were asking me to build CRUD applications. I prefer to check this https://www.mindk.com/industries/elearning/ and get more new ways for apps. In that time, I've built many apps and I have even had the opportunity to speak at multiple conferences on the topic of building backend systems. There is little doubt in my mind that CRUD apps will still be popular throughout 2017 and beyond. That being said, I think the last major job market shift was towards front-end only web development roles.
