Yes, I somewhat agree with your points about the contribution graph, But I think if a person is doing contributions regularly, It also increases their chances of a good impression. While using a contribution graph a person should have to decide whether it is for them or not, maybe he/she is not more actively contributing. Then they should have to go with other things which will add value in README.
