I would say it's definitely brought more structure to get people to be more well rounded as they become more senior. Often with engineers you see people get promoted because they are a subject matter expert in one technical thing. They then lack the skills to be effective leaders especially around communication

Hi Raahul, generally the IC4 level role is where people start to shape their career. It's a role that requires both heavy mentorship as well as technical expertise. By doing that role people generally find out which way they prefer to lean, and then start to focus more on the track of their preference
