David Ruzumna is a seasoned attorney and judge pro tem with a legal career spanning more than two decades. Born and raised in the Brentwood area of West Los Angeles, he earned his undergraduate degree in sociology from Humboldt State University. After taking time to explore his path forward, he chose to pursue law, gaining admission to law school and passing the bar in 1997. That same year, he married his partner and began practicing law, laying the foundation for a career built on dedication and service. In 2000, David established his own law practice, where he has focused on delivering client-centered legal representation. His practice has been shaped by a strong belief in fairness, thoroughness, and the importance of clear communication. These values also guided him when he ran for Superior Court judge in 2012. Though the campaign ended in the primary, it opened the door to judicial service, which soon became a vital part of his professional life. Following the election, David began serving as a judge pro tem in King County District Court, a role that quickly expanded to include other courts and jurisdictions across Washington State. By 2025, he was working nearly full-time in the judiciary, trusted to bring impartiality, sound judgment, and deep legal knowledge to the bench. Whether advocating in court or presiding over cases, David continues to be driven by a commitment to justice and public service.
