The artical does a great job brreaking down how to scale Elasticsearch without all the usual fluff. The Swoo example was a good reminder that scaling isn't just about adding more nodes—it’s about understanding the little tweaks that make a big differnce, like adjusting JVM settigns and keeping an eye on shard mangement. It really gives you a no-nonsense look at what works and what doesn’t when things get heavy
The explanation of domain services and orchestration was really clear. It shows how DDD helps manage complex workflows across different entities while keeping everything structured. It’s a solid reminder of how these principles can simplify handling business logic in larger systems.
I've been in teams where jumping straight to solutions led to rework later on, so asking "What problem are we solving?" has been a game changer. Also, testing prototypes early is something we often overlook, but it makes such a big difference in refining the product before heavy development starts
Running into roadblocks with third-party services is frustrating, but instead of sticking with something that didn’t work, they went all in and built their own solution, which is seriously impressive. Though not every firm can afford that
