I'm a Godot Game Developer, but I also love taking on general programming adventures, usually in Python. My blog outlines these topics and my experiences learning about them in manner, that's hopefully, easier for others to understand.
Game Jams with Godot, Writing Godot Shaders
I... have been persuaded, I must say. Clicked on this thinking, what's he on about? But now I actually understand your argument, and have really nothing to say against it. Just, one minor, really small problem - using paragraphs in the writing makes it much easier to read, the whole article felt like a massive chunk to read through. I started with Python as my first language :/ However I've been wanting to take up C or C++ as a new language to learn, they seemed like a good challenge with very rewarding outcomes, and I think this article has solidified that decision. Perhaps as long as there is a will to learn, the grind should be a little easier at least? In any case, this was a great read! Thanks for sharing :)
I'm actually curious about VSCode's performance. I used Visual Studio and didn't like it at all because its so heavy and contains so much bloat from the time you install it, launching takes forever as well. So I thought VSCode had similar issues, but seeing that you're using it well I'm curious about how it performs, mainly just a few questions: 1. Is it speedy or does it lag? 2. Does it launch fast? 3. How much storage space does it take 4. Are the extensions very heavy? Basically just those. I know I can Google up the answers but most people seem to heavily in favor of VSCode and I'm not sure if the opinions are biased, so I'd rather if you told me from your own experience how VSCode is. Thanks again for the help!
Hey CybearTron! Glad to see you're side of the experience, I definitely had a lot of fun too. And yes, Mandarus went all out with those SFX! Though I must say that what you did was nothing short of amazing too! You were the sole artist in the team and especially on the last day I think you did a lot of work! Not to mention, you also did all the storywriting for the game. Anyways, thanks for hosting the jam! I was looking for an excuse to make a game but after teaming up with you guys I had soo much fun! It was a really thrilling experience. Would be glad to work with you again!
