Thanks for your reply on the modal, and thank you also for your honest assessment of my code. I'm a recently started self-learner and this is my first attempt at a complete project. I'm not saying that as an excuse or as a plea for kid-glove treatment, more as an explanation. I'll admit to being a little disheartened, as I'd believed I was doing reasonably well for my level. Guess not. Here we see the drawbacks of teaching yourself in solitude. If you have a minute to spare, can I ask for some advice? I'd like to know how I can improve this mess. If you have time for a couple questions I'd really appreciate it, or if you can toss a few links my way. It seems I've not been doing a good enough job of finding reliable resources on my own.
