If you are a complete beginner to Web Application development then first of all master the basics of Web Development which include HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Jquery. You can learn these basics from W3Schools Online Web Tutorials and can also refer Web technology for developers (MDN web docs). After mastering the basics of Web Development then you can pick a framework for making your website responsive (i.e it should provide optimal viewing experience on various devices such as tablets, phones and desktops, etc.). Now you have completed the basics of front-end development and can head over to back-end development. There are various frameworks for back-end development and now depend on your choice of programming language. I’ll list the most popular ones: 1.) Node.js (language requirement: JavaScript) 2.)Django: The Web framework for perfectionists with deadlines (language requirement: Python) 3.) Ruby on Rails (language requirement: Ruby) 4.)Laravel: The PHP Framework For Web Artisans (language requirement: Php) I’ll recommend going with Node.js as it’s growing very fast. I haven't develop any web app using flask but the practices which I follow in order to make my workflow smoother and productive are: 1.) Text editor A good text editor makes your workflow faster and smoother. I use Sublime-text and make use of emmet along with some packages in order to speed up my workflow. 2.) Work flow I firstly design the wire framework of my web app in order to get a clear idea of my web app. I make use of moqups in order to create wire-frames. Secondly, I use to design the front-end of my web app. Thirdly, I design the database schema and proceed with the back-end development of my web app. Lastly I integrate the front-end with back-end and then do the testing. 3.) Modular approach I use to have a modular approach while developing any web app by dividing different components and functionality into modules so to easily identify the bug when something goes wrong. General ideas that are relatively easy to make but cover a lot of ground in terms of knowledge : Login system - You can learn a lot about sessions, csrf protection, encryption and a lot more while developing a login system. Blogging application - You can learn a lot about database and REST API while developing a blogging application. Chat application - You can learn about real-time bidirectional event-based communication and lot more.

One can learn JavaScript from JS: The Right Way and there are very good tutorials present on edX , if interested in reading books then one can read Eloquent JavaScript and MDN web docs is best for reference and learning.

It's great to have a mentor in order to save time and learn things quickly in the right direction, if you are in a college then it become easier to find one as some are really awesome developers who can guide you with their experiences, I found my seniors as my mentors because they gave me a proper exposure to the web development roadmap and tools used by professional developers. Hashnode was also introduce to me by one of them. So if you can't find one then the best option is to read blogs of good developers on medium, answers on quora and hashnode, follow them on github and then you will be able to see the whole roadmap.

I'd say "okay, there are some more bugs to fix, let me see" and will then troubleshoot to find and resolve the bug, if it takes time then i''ll ask them to give me some time to resolve these bugs.
