Hey! I have been working as a developer for quite a few years now and in the last couple of years, I got into mentoring and helping junior developers. I want to share a few cents on your question and it may be able to help you or other upcoming frontend developers in the future. Specifically, I would suggest you focus on building a thorough portfolio that can showcase your skills and abilities. It doesn't have to be a huge portfolio, but there should a couple of projects you've built. It is also likely to increase your chances if you use a major framework/library on one of those. It can be React or Vue or Svelte or something else, but it should be some tool developers use daily to build frontend applications. If you do not have any projects, you could look for them on the internet. For example, there're great challenges from FreeCodeCamp I can also share a project assignment, that I and my partner came up with last month to help junior developers to hone their skills and have one more presentable project in their portfolio. Through the assignment, you will build a frontend app called "Housework Todoer" 🏡 ( https://banda.works/housework-todoer) to help our (imaginary) friend Jack to encourage his kids participating in home chores (yeah, this may be troublesome sometimes 😅) We prepared a nice-looking design and a background story so we hope it should be enjoyable and interesting for you to build, while still providing enough challenges to display your skills to possible employers.
