OTOH there is plenty technologies to chose from. Frameworks, libraries, and huge amount of tools to use. All of them may be useful, helpful. But at the same time only getting to know which tools is for which task takes a lot of time. Learning those tools and languages, databases, rules, clean code, test, TDD etc can take more time than learning algorithmic.

I don't think so. I'm using integrated into i3 and all works fine.
