Great read! So many topics/concepts there that I knew nothing or very litte about so had to Google: EM as a role (LinkedIn’d some job specs) What Docker is, I realise now I’ve seen that whale everywhere! 100Devs I class myself as an introvert, which is partly why coffee chats haven’t appealed. But I also find joy and energy in leading the team of 50 marketers that I do, so am certainly starting to understand the value of coffee chats ☺️
Eeek there are so many to learn! Guilty of using px, but in my defence i have only been learning for a month haha. I had no idea % was called 'relative'. I came across it when using bootstrap. There are quite a few here, so i am going to try to use one new unit each week to see if it sinks in. Would love to see more articles of this ilk! I really enjoy your writing style and the Gifs help me to follow along :D Zoe
Hi Yuri, Thank you so much for taking the time to read my first blog post! Was it recommended to you to learn Git/GitHub before learning to code, or did you sort of stumble into it being that way around? If i am being honest, i still do not know how the terminal comes into play with all this! But I will certainly check out TOP curriculum like you suggested :D

I have heard mixed things about going full-stack, but perhaps these days most people end up doing it out of necessity to build their own applications? I did try Python a few years back and perhaps once i have my grounding in FE I will consider it again. I have seen the data team do some pretty epic stuff with it :)

Great post - I completely agree that it is an opportunity for the candidate to not only stand-out, but also gain some insight into whether the role is a good fit for them. I often feel a bit deflated at the end of the interview if the candidate has no questions. It may not be true for them, but I am left with the impression they are not excited / keen to join us. Over the past year, all interviews i have led have been virtual, so I almost expect more questions as the candidate has their laptop open in front of them (with our webpage open I hope). Some other ideas for Qs Where do you expect the department/company to be in 2 years / Which areas are you looking to grow in? How long does the onboarding process take and will i be provided with any training? If I were to get the role, who will my line manager be and what is their role? Do you work to KPI and if so, will I have individual targets to work towards?
