I think these npm deps and the craziness need to be managed in a better way for this to sustain. What you said Faiz is exactly my turn-off as well. So many things to setup ahead of time and then when it comes to deployment there's a hell to cross...that's one of the major turn-offs for me, other than that I love working within the dynamics of React.

Would love to read as well, if you can leave us a link here. I came from Angular (hmmm...the ancient version!), looked into one of the middle generation version, and then picked up React/React Native. I feel comfortable with the React ecosystem but getting it setup/deployment dependencies are a pain and are a major discouragement for me to use it on all my work. Would love to hear what you say.

I'm a newbie to Ruby on Rails but so far the most convincing part was Devise for auth. There's nothing closer to anything out there for other platforms I guess. Ruby is a great language but I feel like it's not that glittery when I looked it from the outside. My main complaint so far is to make rails work nicely with some of the jQuery stuff. It's still a hard fight to find a right datepicker that's modern enough. Couldn't believe it's almost 2016 and I still couldn't get a decent datepicker to work nicely with Rails :(

I'd be really curious to get some feedback on if it's wise to stick with Ruby on Rails these days as the help out there on SO and such are so outdated now. Anyone?
