I would like to answer this question with a few points and this is completely my opinion. These points are as follows: Python and Javascript(JS) are two programming languages that have active open-source communities . Thus, this means there are always new updates and features coming in. Thus, I think both the language will flourish in the coming decade. With the advent of more and more communities and tech giants working towards these languages, JS could be used to make websites and write Machine learning codes(Check out Tensorflow.js ). The same applies to Python too, even Python could be used for both the domain. But, Python is still ruling the ML programming world and JS is flourishing in the Web development world. -Tip: If you are asking this question in order to start with any of the languages and then landing a job, I would suggest you to learn to understand various algorithms and code them in JS or Python. This will help you to not only learn the language but also enhance your problem-solving skills. Both the language are in high demand, so just go for any one among them. No language becomes obsolete, I have met people who code in COBOL and they say that whatever you learn, be the master of it. And I think you can be a master of a programming language if you continue practicing it and keeping updated with any new feature coming up. All the best! Keep Coding!
