Hello, I am Derek Owusu and I work as Helpdesk Analyst and I initially work as a Freelancer with WorkMarket until I joined my current company in 2015 and a consultant for i macs for a period of two years before I had the opportunity to hired full-time. For some time now, I have been thinking of how to help the people (NGOs, student, small business) with my skills in IT but I also realized that, to better help my community in America and back home (Ghana - West Africa), I need to have good programming skills so to support students and novice like me to also learn programming. I have also plan to have a change in my career to become either a Software Developer or Engineer in the next two years. I recently studied Database Administration Fundamentals and passed the MTA 98-364 Microsoft certification which I read in an article as the course to get my foot into the front door of my Software developer or engineer career and I am currently taking online courses in Python Programming but I still don't get the concepts but because I always have the passion to learn something new I spend one hour everyday to learn the basic syntax in Python programming everyday. I also do DIY electronics, carpentry and joinery and drawing in my spare time.
