About Me
Gene Allen is a seasoned product engineering executive with 25+ years of experience architecting cybersecurity software products. Gene has held several engineering leadership roles including his stints with McAfee, SolARC, BBS Technologies, NetIQ and several other major software industry players. While serving in his most recent C-level roles, Gene designed a proprietary P2P secure messaging and collaboration system and launched his company’s flagship security product.
Gene’s past accomplishments include growing a Rapid Development Team 15-fold while shipping a total of 15 shrink-wrap products, creating several popular lead generation tools, architecting an event management software which was purchased by Microsoft for $275 million. A natural-born leader who isn’t afraid to ask hard questions when solving problems, Gene has built a successful career utilizing technology to improve the way people work and communicate.
As an engineering architect, software development, and product design team leader, he continues to bring innovative products to market with a focus on cybersecurity, data protection, identity security, secure collaboration, privacy preservation, and more. Gene is currently the Vice President of Product Engineering at Circle, a Silicon Valley based stealth cybersecurity startup.
He currently lives in Magnolia, Texas with his wife and two daughters. He cooks a mean chili and loves gaming in his free time.
