Hello everyone 👋, Long time product manager, new developer, and excited to be here. For the past decade I learned the science and religion of product management. Growing to be the VP of product at a large company with over 8 squads of engineers, designers, and product managers. We built amazing software products that made us proud. All the while, I didn't know a lick of code. To be honest, I didn't think I needed to know the IDE level details of building software. It wasn't my job. When I decided to leave my comfortable role as a PM and join my best friend in starting a company, that all began to change. My co-founder was deeply technical. And with just the two of us, my inability to code was holding us back. It wasn't that I couldn't contribute to building our software. More importantly, my limited technical literacy was keeping me from learning and engaging with the new technology we were building. We couldn't riff on the possibilities of our products. So when Covid-19 hit, I took the extra time at home to commit to learning to code. Starting with the lingua franca - Javascript. With free resources on the world wide web, an hour of tutoring from my co-founder each week, and several hundred hours on the keyboard (you gotta put in the reps) - I unlocked a vibrant world hiding in plain site. Now, I am here to continue to explore the world of building great software and the technologies that shape it. Learning more and contributing my unique perspective of a product manager gone rogue with code. Let's build things that ought to be!
