It took me a long time to realize how much of an introvert I am. I spent years working in professions that required me to be in the spotlight from sales positions to marketing to public speaking. But even then I always found myself retreating back into my own corner as soon as the work was done. It was only after careful introspection (years later) that I realized that this was, because I enjoyed and valued my alone-time -- however rare that was. One of the key signs for me was that it always felt like I had to summon all of my energy in order to get myself up on a stage or in front of a mic or camera. And this became extremely exhausting the more I did it. It took me a long time to realize that I was an introvert masquerading as an extrovert, because that is what the industry and society was expecting of me. In either case, thank you for sharing this, I think this is a difficult conversation for many to have and even harder for some to accept. I am sure this will help many people feel more comfortable with their true selves and that is worth it!
Amazing Lee Robinson , thanks so much! I'm looking forward to the new content, and you are absolutely right, React Server Components are definitely one of the most exciting things coming up on the horizon in the React eco-system. Thanks so much for taking the time out and sharing your thoughts with us!
Hey Lee, I have to start by saying that as an avid user of both Next.js and Vercel, your content and courses have helped me stay current and informed, especially over the past few years. I'm sincerely grateful to you for sharing your knowledge and your straight-forward teaching approach. 🙏 Currently, I'm extremely excited about Vercel's "middleware" feature, and I wonder what current or upcoming technologies/features most excite you with regard to the work that you guys are doing over at Vercel and why? Also do you plan on releasing content related to working with some of the newer features such as "middleware" and "live preview"? Thanks again for all your efforts including this AMA!
