Pankaj Tanwar , all good my friend. Totally understand that you were trying to use an analogy but readers might be misled. Active Controller (one of your brokers), not ZooKeeper, decides who is the replica leader and who is the follower.

My 2 cents: Kafka topics are not like queues. You can only have one consumer/subscriber for a message queue, i.e. a message from a queue goes to one and ONLY one subscriber!
