Yeah this isn't really an option on the app I work on. A dozen teams working on an enterprise app makes implementing changes a big deal a bit slow. We just upgraded to 1.4.x and still are way behind on many of the angular style guide recommendations. New or small apps I could totally see this being adopted though.
