I get that - I'm sure the idea isn't unique as such although, I don't see anyone else with it - whether that means people have tried and failed in the past because it's not such a good idea - I don't know. A good sign that an idea may be fruitful though is if it's something that would prove useful if in existence and I know I for one, would absolutely use this service were I able to find it and not just out of convenience - it would make a huge impact on my life. Others have suggested that creative people continually come up with good ideas and I see myself in that mould and it's true, I'm full of ideas and I'm certain many will be a success once I have the chance to run with them and this is half the reason I'm learning to become a developer - once I have the skills, I'll be in my element, there's so much I want to try. However, there's another angle to this in that, maybe this is 'my' Facebook or Google (it's not on that level but still) and although I probably will experience success from my other ideas - maybe this is my showpiece. The problem is, it's an idea that doesn't require too much to get started. For a developer, they could build the website easily enough with virtually no outlay and the idea would receive a lot of good free publicity for reasons I can't say right now and I'm certain and so 'I believe', a lot of people would join - so one mention of it publicly and immediately there'll be a lot of competition.
