Nodejs + Express + https://www.npmjs.com/package/mssql did it for me.

My first real "application", a webapp, was a self made backend/cms for a website. The same time I had to write some calculators and simple stuff like that in school. It all started in 15 years ago.

I don't think that you can compare CoreOS with Docker. For my understanding Docker is a container runtime and CoreOS is an operating system that provides all components you need to run a container runtime. You can compare docker with rocket!
